The Gonawapotera mystery depeens…the pool is now full again!

Aaron Gono

As we are expecting cyclone Chido to replenish all water reserves in the country; the Gonawapotera pool which boarders the Midlands and Masvingo provinces is now full again.

Last month The Midweek Watch, highlighted that, this is the first time the orphic pool has dried up after 600 years of abstaining. The pool which lies in Shashe River has replenished itself after some few rainfalls upstream. The rains were just about 0.01mm a week ago. This is pure mysticism, believe it or not.

I subscribe to the Roman Catholic religion but Gonawapotera pool needs our traditionalists to think twice. ‘Kutamba ne Gonawapotera, watamba nyoka; kutsika muswe wayo unorumwa’ Our modern day chiefs, despite the climate change which now every disaster is associated with, need to observe the Shona protocols.

We expect you to be well versed in our traditions and customs; but most appear to bear the 2K data base memories. The moment you lack this mystical prowess, the more we look down upon your chieftainship.” Zvikomo zviremera zvinopanana mhute.” If your close aides fail to give you such advice: go and relinquish your crown.

 Adios Amigo.
