BIKITA – All roads lead to Bikita as the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Moriah in Zimbabwe prepares to host its biannual Passover Festival from 30th to 31st October and 1st November 2026.

The three-day spiritual gathering, which is one of the most sacred events on the ZCC Moriah church calendar, is expected to attract thousands of congregants from across Zimbabwe’s ten provinces and beyond, including members in the diaspora.

In an interview with The Midweek Watch from the ZCC Moria Bishop Simion Mazengwa said preparations are at an advanced stage and called on all church members to attend in their numbers.

“We are calling upon all our members across the country and in the diaspora to come in large numbers for this sacred Passover Festival. It is a time to thank the Lord and to rededicate our lives,” said Bishop Mazengwa.

He said the festival will be a moment of national prayer, with the faithfuls expected to intercede for the country.

“We will gather to pray for a good rainy season, for abundant crops in our fields, for strong families, for employment creation for our youths, and for continued peace and tranquillity in our beloved nation Zimbabwe,” he said.

Bishop Mazengwa anchored his message on the Book of 1 Corinthians 5:7 which says, “Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.”

This year’s celebrations will run under the theme: “Prepare Your Heart, Seek His Grace and Celebrate Faithfulness” – a theme which church leaders say speaks to spiritual renewal and thanksgiving.

Church officials said logistics to host the multitudes at Moria church shrine are already in place, including accommodation, sanitation, clean water supply, security and health services to ensure a peaceful and incident-free festival.

The Passover Festival is held twice annually and remains a cornerstone of the ZCC Moriah faith, symbolizing deliverance, sacrifice and God’s enduring faithfulness to His people.
