Masvingo agric show preps in top gear

Preparations are progressing well for this year’s edition of the Masvingo agricultural show which will be held at the end of this month, with expected top notch exhibitions and entertainment for the whole family lined up.
Masvingo Show Society chairperson veteran retired educationist Fadzai Jirivengwa said all is progressing well with at least 110 exhibitors having already confirmed their participation while 20 more exhibition stands are still up for grabs.
The annual event will be held from 26- 29 September under the theme ‘moving towards economic development and growth’.
Remaining exhibition stands are going for as little as US$150 for the smallest stand while big stands are pegged at US$500
Exhibitors are clustered into more that 10 categories which include parastatals, non governmental organizations, tertiary and financial institutions, food chains that have already taken up space to showcase and market their goods and services.
Some of the notable institutions that will be the center of attraction during the show include the Zimbabwe Lands Commission, Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission, the Ministry of Home Affairs fast food giants Chicken Inn and Steers, Allied Timbers among other leading companies in the country.
“We urge the business community, farmers and the public to attend the show in their numbers and create business synergies. This is also an opportunity for business people and farmers to market themselves. We still have space for exhibiting. To the public, we have a lot of exciting activities and ZRP full display from Harare. There will be exhibitors from all over the country,” she said.
On the entertainment side Killer T born Kelvin Kusikwenyu will be the main act and he will be supported by various local artists from Masvingo.
While jumping castles, Mr. Strongman and the lunar park and fireworks will add flair to the show and entrance fee for the public is going for US$5 for adults and US$3 for children.
