Masvingo-A 60-year-old grandmother from Zano area near Kyle Dam, Mbuya Mamvura, born Evelyn Samtamba is appealing for assistance after her hut and toilet were destroyed by heavy rains that hit the area in February 2026.
Mbuya Mamvura who worships at Full Gospel Church led by Pastor Tavengwa Mandipa was left homeless after the downpours reduced her house to rubble, exposing her to harsh weather conditions.
The situation worsened when her toilet was also destroyed, leaving her living in unsafe and undignified conditions.
Speaking to the Midweek Watch, Pastor Mandipa said builders who assessed the damage have since provided a list of materials required to rebuild the house and toilet.
“These include a 12×12 ft structure, 3×12 ft IBR roofing sheets, six treated poles measuring over seven metres, three kilograms of zinc nails, one kilogram of tying wire, chiruvu, 2 000 bricks and 10 bags of cement.”
The community is now appealing to well-wishers, donors and organisations to assist Mbuya Mamvura in rebuilding her home and restoring her dignity.
For assistance, Mbuya Mamvura can be contacted on +263772632617 or Pastor T.Mandipa on 0779941671.
