MASVINGO-A 11 year old juvenile was crushed to death by a Toyota GD6 near Chitanga Primary School when it lost control after the tire came off.
Taurai Chimora, a learner at Chitanga Primary School, from Chitanga Village under Chief Chitanga in Mwenezi District died upon admission at Neshuro District Hospital after being hit by a Toyota GD6 which had lost control when its front tire came off while in motion.
Masvingo Provincial Police spokesperson Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the sad incident and said the driver is facing culpable homicide charges while investigations are going on.
Insp Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that on June 15 at around 9am a Toyota GD6 was driving along Masvingo Beitbridge Road and when it was at the 120km peg near Chitanga Primary School, the vehicle’s right front wheel came off.
The car lost control and hit the juvenile who sustained broken legs and body bruises upon which she was rushed to Neshuro District Hospital where she was pronounced dead on admission.
Guvukuvu Muvindi was driving the vehicle.
