Farmek School to change infant education landscape in Msv
MIDWEEK REPORTER
MASVINGO CITY-Farmek Primary which opened its doors at the beginning of the year is set to change the infant education landscape in the ancient city with its unique approach to learning.
Farmek, a private school, offers both outdoor education and field trips for the young learners and it also allows them to choose between Cambridge and Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council examinations at grade 7.
As its moto says ‘Inspired to do more’ the school is geared to provide the best education available and this is also enhanced by its location which is away from the madness of the city.
The school is located along Zimuto road about 4km from the CBD next Kyle College.
The school head is veteran educationist and multi award winning Alexander Mashenjere who came from Shakashe Primary in Rujeko.
Mashenjere headed Shakashe for many years until he left the school in 2023 heading to Farmek and has been winning accolades every year on the bounce while at his former school including three times as the best council school.
He managed to buy 4×4 twin cab truck, added more classroom blocks, bought a school bus while at Shakashe among other achievements.
He transformed Shakashe from an ordinary high density school to one of the most sought after in the ancient city.
“We want to be the infant school of choice in Masvingo and the process has already started, we are laying a strong foundation in order to churn out a complete learner for secondary education.
“We will not restrict ourselves to academic excellency but all areas that pupils feel they can excel in including all sporting disciplines, drama, arts, PE you name it, we will not leave anyone behind so to speak,” said the towering Mashenjere.
For easy of communication with the outside world and for business purposes the school strives for the learners to be proficient in the Queen’s language as it is the most spoken all over the globe.
They also offer free break time meals to all the pupils as an incentive and to avoid pupils from going hungry while at school.
As a seasoned administrator Mashenjere promised that by the time their pioneering classes get to grade 7 they want them to attain 100% pass rate whether they sit for Cambridge or ZIMSEC.
“Our teacher to pupil ratio of 1 to 14 maximum enables the educator to have maximum concentration with each learner guaranteeing best results be it sport, academics, drama or arts.
“Our fees are also very affordable and flexible taking cognizance of the prevailing economic situation, for your child to receive the best education in the city enroll your child with Farmek, you will not regret,” added Mashenjere.
