Miriam Ncube, the board treasurer of ECT, highlighted the urgent need for a cancer center in Masvingo Province.

“The organization seeks to address the emotional and financial burden of cancer on patients and their loved ones. Hence, the proposed cancer center will provide much-needed support and care to those affected by this devastating disease,” she added.

Tinashe Chatikobo, the director of ECT, stated, “The event was just the beginning, with many more fundraising activities planned to support this worthy cause.”

Despite volatile economic challenges, ECT has taken bold steps to address the impact of cancer in the community.

The organization envisions a future where a dedicated cancer center plays a pivotal role in offering crucial services to patients, survivors, and families grappling with the emotional and financial burden of cancer.

The center will not only provide psycho-social support but also implement economic empowerment projects to assist individuals in accessing vital treatments like chemotherapy.
