Cockpit is on fire!

Total disorder! Confusion! Tag of War! Wrestling tournament in the Zanu PF government financial sector cockpit.

The highest office in the land is issuing two contradictory statements. President Mnangagwa is singing glory praise to the new currency the ZiG. His Vice President Rtd General Chiwenga is on a totally different page. He is threatening to withdraw the currency as he says it’s not performing to the government expectations.

Rtd General Chiwenga is getting a lot of support on the ZiG. The business community and ordinary citizens applaud VP Chiwenga for being the first government official to accept that the ZiG is a failure.

Currently majority of citizens both in urban and rural areas have not got hold of the local currency since its introduction more than 4 months ago.

With the Zanu PF succession fights hotting up, Rtd General Chiwenga on ZiG has scored a winning penalty. Mnangagwa is divorce from economic fundamentals operating on the ground is greatly affecting his Zanu PF grassroots support.

The ZiG exchange rate on the parallel market is skyrocketing everyday. Chiwenga warned that chasing moneychangers will not stabilize the ZiG but the government must put its house in order.

Rtd General Chiwenga’s statement is interpreted by many suffering citizens that Zimbabweans must be united regardless of political affiliation to solve the economic crisis.

Many people see Chiwenga as throwing a peace- unity olive branch to opposition political party leaders and former Zanu PF exiled leaders. This call of unity resonates well with suffering citizen who think this can be the only solution to more than three decades of economic suffering.
