The Ministry of public service in Mwenezi has continued its exceptional work by conducting a two-day induction workshop for newly recruited educators at Rutenga Primary on the 8th and 9th of this month.

This initiative stems from a decentralisation initiative led by Mwenezi North Member of Parliament, Honorable Makope, advocating for the decentralisation of teacher recruitment at the district level in Mwenezi.

The necessity for decentralization arose due to instances of educators from other districts being assigned to Mwenezi, only to relocate to schools in their respective districts shortly after deployment.

The decentralisation strategy was implemented to facilitate more localized teacher recruitment, resulting in enhanced staff retention within the district, with over 700 teachers recruited since its inception.

Despite these endeavors, the Ministry encountered a new challenge – the emergence of various scandals involving extramarital relationships, inappropriate affiliations, and tarnishing of the Ministry’s reputation. To prevent detrimental impacts on the public service, an induction workshop was organized to establish clear guidelines for the new teachers to operate within. This initiative aimed to reinforce the significance of professional conduct among the recruits.

Hon Sheillah Chikomo, legislator for Mwenezi East Constituency  and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade commended this efforts and calls upon teachers to diligently execute their duties as they provide quality education.
