Alert residents apprehend Kwekwe lover killer

Kwekwe- The Zimbabwe Republic Police wishes to applaud the Sherwood, Kwekwe community for making a citizen arrest on a 51 year old man who is alleged to have killed his girlfriend.

The incident occurred on 3 November 2024 at about 0030 hours at Machakwi compound Sherwood, Kwekwe.

Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the suspect was apprehended by members of the community and was handed to the Police.

“We would like to urge members of the public to solve disputes in a peaceful manner other than violence. We also would like to thank the community for apprehending the suspect Christopher Ncube as he was likely to run away after commission of the offence,” said Mahoko.

Circumstances are that the now deceased was identified as Grace Magogodla, a female, aged 31 of Machakwi cropping compound, Sherwood, Kwekwe.

On 2 November 2024 at around 2100 hours the suspect Christopher Ncube also of Machakwi Cropping Compound Sherwood, Kwekwe was drinking beer with his girlfriend Grace Magogodla and other patrons at Machakwi beerhall Sherwood, Kwekwe.

Ncube is said to have retired to bed in his room leaving Magogodla drinking with other patrons which include Doubt Chinyanga of the same compound who is believed to be Magagula’s ex-boyfriend.
