Three Dangamvura men were arraigned before Mutare provincial magistrate Tendai Mahwe on allegations of murder and were remanded in custody.

They were advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Brighton Kaisa (27), Oliver Kaisa (28) and Garikai Saungweme (50) were charged with murder as defined in Section 47 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
It was the State’s case led by Thurstone Mubvumbi that on Tuesday night Garikai Saungweme saw Tarrick Mamenemuno stealing some vegetables at 145 Area 3 Dangamvura, where he also resides as a tenant.
“Saungweme called Oliver over the phone who woke up and apprehended Mamenemuno. The two then tied the now deceased’s hands and legs. Brighton Kaisa also woke up and they tied Mamenemuno on a mango tree. He was assaulted all over the body by the trio with an electric wire fixed to a wooden handle,” Mubvumbi told the court.
Mubvumbi further alleged that Saungweme fetched water and poured on Mamenemuno and they continued to assault him using the electric cable. After assaulting Mamenemuno they carried him into Oliver Kaisa’s room where he eventually died.
The three will be back in the dock for routine remand on 23 May 2025.
