BULAWAYO – The Zimbabwe School of Mines (ZSM) annual marathon is set to take place on July 27, 2024, in the City of Queens and Kings at White City Stadium.
The marathon is part of ZSM’s corporate social responsibility initiative, aimed at raising funds for the underprivileged communities.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch, ZSM principal, Edwin Gwaze said the marathon is also a wellness initiative to keep employees, students, and the community health.

“The registration fees are $20 for the 42km marathon, $15 for the 21km half marathon, $10 for the 10km race, and $10 for the 5km race.
“The marathon will commence at 6:30am, and ZSM is still seeking sponsors to support the upcoming event,” he said.
Last year, the marathon attracted 1 800 participants and was held at the ZSM campus.
Siphathisiwe Maisiri, ZSM’s marketing and corporate affairs manager and chief coordinator of the marathon, stated that the event will “promote a culture of fitness and contribute to the development of the institution.”
Maisiri added that the marathon has no age restrictions, and the only requirements for participants are their date of birth, name, club, and fees.
