ZIFA Midlands Division 2A fixtures marred by no-shows

MBERENGWA -The ZIFA Midlands Division 2A weekend fixtures got off to a disappointing start as two teams failed to fulfill their away games.
Siwawa and All Stars (Somabhula) did not show up for their matches against Mbesa FC and Jame West FC, respectively.
This resulted in Mbesa FC and Jame West FC being awarded 3 points and 3 goals each.
Jame West FC coach Ashel Gutu expressed disappointment with All Stars S’s no-show, saying “it deprived their supporters of an entertaining game at home”.
However, Gutu was pleased with the 3 points and goals his team received, which will help them as they prepare to face Siwawa in their next match at Gafa grounds, Gweru.
Mbesa FC director Neviel Zunde was unsure why Siwawa failed to show up, as they were sixth on the league table.
Zunde acknowledged the ups and downs his team has faced but said they are doing their best to progress and provide entertaining football for their fans.
In the other match, Great Dyke FC and Midlands FC played out a 1-1 draw.
Great Dyke FC secretary general Rochford Pikanegore said his team had many chances to score but failed to capitalize.
He noted that some of their “players were injured and couldn’t perform at their best, but the game was still a good one, even though they had hoped for a win at home”.
The ZIFA Midlands Division 2A has seen a mix of results, with some teams taking advantage of their opponents’ no-shows and others fighting for points on the pitch.
As the season progresses, fans can expect more exciting and unpredictable matches in this competitive league.
