Woman on the run for battering lover’s wife

CHIPINGE-Lindiwe Jabangwe (26) of Checheche Phase 1 is lucky to be alive after allegedly receiving a thorough beating including being hit with an iron bar by her husband’s girlfriend, Trinity Tenda.

The matter was reported at Chisumbanje Police and Jabangwe was taken to St Peters Hospital where she was treated for swollen head and discharged but the assailant is on the run.

On January 7, 2025 at around 630pm at Checheche Growth Point in Chipinge Jabangwe passed through Tenda’s homestead and saw his husband, Pinias Chauke (34) seated together with the accused.

As she approached the lovebirds, Chauke bolted away and left the two fighting.

Tenda allegedly picked up an iron bar and started hitting Jabangwe on the head until she fell down and became unconscious.

Ngonidzashe Ziyapapa, a neighbour rushed to the scene and Tenda ran away while the Good Samaritan went on to report the matter to the police who ferried Jabangwe to St Peters Hospital.

Manicaland Province acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said they are looking for the accused and those with information which may lead to her arrest should come forward.
