PATIENCE SIDUDUZILE MUDAKUVAKA
CHIPINGE-Hell hath no fury like a teenage wife left alone while husband sleeps with another woman next door.
This came true on March 29, when Tendai Mutisi (18) of Siyekaya Village in Chipinge decided to hang herself on a mango tree in the family garden after her husband identified as Adson (23) went to sleep with his first wife after they reunited.
Adson and the first wife had divorced in 2025 but the two reunited and he decided to cement the relationship by sleeping with in her bedroom 5metres from the second wife’s.
This did not go down well with Tendai who bolted out of her bedroom and went on to sit behind the toilet pondering her next move.
Tendai’s mother in law tried to console her to no avail as she disappeared into the night.
A search for Tendai started which yielded no positive results.
The following day at around 4am Adson saw Tendai’s body hanging from a mango tree in the family garden at the homestead.
The body was taken by police from Junction Gate base to Chipinge District Hospital for postmortem while investigations are in progress.
Manicaland Province acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said feuding parties should approach elders or counsellors for mediation than resorting to suicide.
