The spirit of the times was expressed by Albert Beveridge, soon thereafter to be elected to the United States Senate, who proclaimed Americans to be “a conquering race”: “We must obey our blood and occupy new markets and if necessary new lands,” he said, because “In the Almighty’s infinite plan … debased civilizations and decaying races” must disappear “before the higher civilization of the nobler and more virile types of man.”
From the Roman Empire, the Mongol Empire, the Ottoman Empire, the British Empire (known as the empire on which the sun never sets), the Persian Empire, and the Qing Dynasty. Unfortunately all these empires came and go. Unfortunately, in Africa we also had our empires but not much positivity came out of them. In South Africa we had the Zulu Kingdom, in Zimbabwe, the Munhumutapa Empire, etc. They were not capped because they were too provincial and unsophisticated. Because they didn’t expand their territories globally.
African Empires were known only for usurping their neighbors’ lands and random killing of people. The whitemen’s empires are revered for fostering trade and governance. Also respected for their military escapades. Even today if they bomb Afghanistan, it is justified as the norm and necessary thing to do. If any African leader try to put in a row its citizenry; it is called persecution and dictatorship. What made all the above empires fall was mostly their hubris.
As President Trump is overextending his commitments and dictating whatever comes to his mind to everybody including his allies. This is what l call the ” Hitleristic and Stanilistic” approach to world affairs. He is driven by his pride of his powerful military industrial complex; which was enabled by Germany war criminals captured after the second world war.
His tariffs which he randomly gives to every country in the world is done by a mean protectionist; who is good in commercial law and lack any idea on the workings of international relations. There is no democracy or liberalism in all this but greediness and a mind corrupted by power.
This time he is dissing Zelensky, the next time he is cuddling him at Vatican City. Trump during his campaign was my darling, still he is but he must simply behave. He is not the president of the Viet Cong but of the richest federal state in the world. If he behaves like Jim Jones, what about our third world leaders?
Now the platform is more open for abuse. Centurues of democratic pedagogics going to waste. So democracy was just a ploy to look efficient, organized and human. A system like the bible which used by their ancestors to plunder third world countries.
This is what students of history equate to the British’ s Splendid Isolation in the late 19 th century . The factors which led the British Empire to isolate itself from the madding crowd were naval supremacy, global dominance, economic power, distrust of alliances and leadership philosophy . These factors are also leading Trump to behave like all vanquished empires.
They didn’t fall naturally, their leaders made wrong decisions of thinking that they were untouchables. History always repeats itself but let’s forgive Trump he never studied history, but entrepreneurship. His eyes like those of the former president Biden were fixed on Ukraine’ s critical minerals. It’s simple he is our modern day Hitler and Stalin. He is fascist.
“All this struggling and striving to make the world better is a great mistake,” said George Bernard Shaw, “not because it isn’t a good thing to improve the world if you know how to do it, but because striving and struggling is the worst way you could set about doing anything.”
They always say they want to make the world a better place by cutting aid to the poor and regime change in third world countries. That is not what people of the world expected from America, they listened thinking that it cares for them. Now Trump thinks he gotta an efficient army to conquer the world and he is preparing to do so.
Like Britain, America also has dominated the world economically and technologically. Right now l am using a smartphone with microchips made in Silicon Valley ; anything you touch has an American brand. Leadership philosophy is one major reason Trump thinks America needs nobody in its affairs, some form of nationalism, Make America Great Again.
Was shocked one day when he appeared on the British Broadcasting Corporation, publicly telling the world that ” if you can’t a make a deal with us, we will make it for you.” What a shame; hearing such antics from a protagonist of free trade, human rights, freedom of speech, and the so-called democracy. So Trump.is determined to conquer the world using tariffs ( trade war). And why is telling us to wake up, to sleep and how to think? The phenomenon is explained by the Canadian psychiatrist and former Director-General of the World Health Organization, Brock Chisholm, who writes:… Man’s method of dealing with difficulties in the past has always been to tell everyone else how they should behave. We’ve all been doing that for centuries. It should be clear by now that this no longer does any good. Everybody has by now been told by everybody else how he should behave.… The criticism is not effective; it never has been, and it never is going to be.…
