CHIVI-A girl (13) from Sovelele area in Muramba Village under Chief Mazetese died on the spot when a donkey drawn scotch cart she was traveling in hit a tree stump and overturned.
Masvingo Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the fatal road traffic which claimed the life of Privilege Moyo on the afternoon of 3 December 2023.
Inspector Dhewa said the donkey drawn scotch cart which belongs to Zivai Matutu was on its way to the grinding meal at a local business center.
He said the animal drawn mode of transport had another teenager 13 years old, as it’s guide when the mishap took place.
“When they arrived and Muramba Primary School the scotch cart hit a tree stump overturned upside down and one passenger who was on board died on the spot,
” Police attended the scene and investigations are still in progress and as the Police we urge passengers who board animal drawn scotch carts to pay attention when on board such that in cases of a mishaps they can easily react to any emergencies,” Inspector Dhewa said.
