St Anthony’s excels in A and O level exams

Roman Catholic Church run St Anthony’s High School in Zaka has demonstrated its academic prowess, recording an impressive 88.26% pass rate in the ZIMSEC Ordinary Level examinations.

 Shona was the most passed subject as 71 of the 229 candidates obtained As with a pass rate of 98.25%.

In the Advanced Level examinations, the school achieved an overall pass rate of 97.7%, with the highest student scoring an impressive 25 points. The second highest student achieved 24 points, while the lowest achieved 0 points. A total of 121 students sat for the exams.

School head, Jorum Mawana, said he is excited with the results.

“We are delighted with our performance, particularly in Shona, which has been identified as a core subject by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, We have always emphasized the importance of Shona as a subject, and our results demonstrate our commitment to this goal,” said Mawana.

Mawana commended the students, teachers, and parents for their hard work, cooperation and dedication.

 “Our success is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our students, teachers, and parents, we are proud of our achievements and look forward to building on this success in the coming years,” he said.

The school’s impressive performance in Shona is in line with the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education’s thrust on the importance of promoting local languages in schools.
