Shock as man kills 2 unarmed Chiredzi women

Masvingo -Tragedy struck in Musarevana Village, Chief Gudo, Chiredzi, when two women, Marurumwei Sambana and Itayi Sambana, lost their lives after being attacked by a man wielding a homemade knife.
The attacker, Misheck Mutende (44) was arrested and is currently held in police custody, with the motive behind the attack still not known.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the sad incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred on September 1, 2024 at around 6 pm when Elizabeth Mavhu, a resident of the same village, stumbled upon the accused, Mutende wrestling with the two women, who were lying unconscious on the footpath.
Mavhu and the local villagers disarmed Mutende and rushed the injured women to Sangwe Clinic for medical attention, unfortunately Itayi was pronounced dead on September 6, and Marurumwei died the following day upon their admission at Parerenyatwa Hospital.
