Bulawayo- There was pandemonium and commotion at the High Court when a cat disrupted proceedings leading to a temporary adjournment of the session.

The matter, however, continued to be heard in a different court room.
Court proceedings came to an abrupt standstill at the Bulawayo High Court recently after a brown stray cat entered the courtroom, disrupting proceedings with its loud wail.
Attempts by police officers and wardens to remove the cat from the courtroom could not help as the it dashed from behind the accused person’s dock to the judge’s table.
In a statement recently, the National Prosecution Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) confirmed the bizarre incident at the High Court in Bulawayo.
“There was drama at the High Court special sitting on the 3rd of June 2026 when a brown stray cat slowly walked into the courtroom and unleashed a mournful, ear-piercing wail, disrupting proceedings,” NPAZ said.
Court staff and litigants were amused by this rare occurrence.
This incident ocurred during the trial of Bright Tshuma (19) of Nkulumane, Bulawayo who was facing a murder charge after stabbing the deceased with a Colombia CCCP AK47 knife.
According to NPAZ, the offender was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
The court of public opinion was quick to validate the existence of black magic in courtrooms.
