GWERUastle Lager Premier Soccer League defending champions Scottland FC survived a spirited fightback from TelOne FC to claim a 3-2 victory at Ascot Stadium on Thursday.
The win kept Scottland firmly in the title race in second place with 11 points from five matches, just one point behind log leaders Caps United.
The visitors struck first when Terrence Dzvukamanja capitalised on a defensive lapse by the WiFi Boys to give Scotland an early advantage.
TelOne responded through Jerry Chipangura and Blessing Mbetebeck to equalize, setting up a tense finish.
However, Walter Musona delivered the decisive blow, handing Scottland maximum points in the five-goal thriller.
Scottland head coach Norman Mapeza praised his players for their fighting spirit after the hard fought victory.
“We showed character today. After taking the lead we had another lapse in concentration, but the boys kept believing and pushing,” Mapeza told The Midweek Watch after the match.
“There was a huge psychological battle in the game and the resilience not to give up was massive for us. I am happy with the boys and now our focus shifts to the next game against Highlanders FC.”
TelOne coach Herbert Maruwa said his side paid the price for failing to convert the chances they created.
“We had our opportunities but we did not utilise them well. But we are moving in the right direction and we will keep fighting,” Maruwa said.
The defeat leaves TelOne trailing in 16th position on the table, third from the bottom, after a difficult start to the 2026 PSL campaign.
