Sandon Academy not looking back, as it attains100% pass rate again


GUTU-Arguably the best and biggest private school in Gutu District, Sandon Academy continues to scale great heights as it has once again attained 100% pass rate in the A Level Cambridge examinations.

Sandon Academy continues to prove its academic prowess while standing firm as an institution of excellence after recording a100% pass rate in the 2023 Advanced levels Cambridge examinations, four years on the bounce.

There were 53 learners who sat for 2023 A level examinations at the school and Pride Nkala was the best with the highest number of points as well, attaining 24 points in five Science and Commercial subjects; Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Geography and Business Studies.

Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Lovemore Matuke, who is the school patron, praised Sandon Academy for their fine performance.

“The school and parents are very happy with the learners’ sterling performance which led to these excellent results and we continue aiming higher so that we keep maintaining the quality of our results and the good name of the school as a centre of excellence,” said Matuke.

“For those who want to enroll with our school they are most welcome because as a school we are proud of what we offer and very confident of meeting the expectations of our learners and parents.

“We offer quality services, instill discipline to the students and we ensure every student excel with quality results in whatever area that they undertake to study” added Matuke.

Matuke also said their discipline record is very impressive as they have not had any of their learners being suspected or accused of abusing drugs and substances as happens at other learning institutions. He attributed all this to the culture of the school, teachers and parents cooperation and commitment in seeing their children doing well in life and academically.

Sandon Academy principal, Thokozile Mupundu told The Midweek Watch that the school authorities are in cloud nine over the impressive results achieved by the school’s A level class of 2023.

She said the success is owed to team work and hard work by staff, parents and students.

“The school is very happy with the recently released A Level results and I want to thank all Sandon Academy staff members for their dedication to duty and hard work as well as the parents for their cooperation and commitment,” said Mupundu.

“I also want to say to the class of 2023, congratulations and thank you for flying the school’s flag high”.

She went on to mention that as an institution they will continue striving for excellence and will continue maintaining the high standards the learning institution has set for itself over the years.

The school’s enrollment currently stand at 500 learners.

The school offers subjects which include Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Divinity, Geography, History, Literature, Accounts, Economics and Business Studies at Advanced level.

Sandon Academy, despite being located in the farming area of Gutu offers state of the art facilities for the learners.

There is a dietician for the learners so that they excel in sports and class, the sporting facilities are next to none and all the disciplines are offered with top trainers always available to take the students through their paces.

Learners’ dormitories are demarcated for single use and the bathrooms are regularly checked for cleanliness and there are no fears of cholera outbreak.

The dining room is regularly checked by a health inspector to ensure that the learners are getting their food rations from hygienic places.
