ZVISHAVANE – Dynamos head coach, Genesis Mangombe had no kind words for the match officials who handled their match against FC Platinum at Mandava recently.
Mangombe accused match officials of deciding match results or coming to matches with results in their back pockets.
He said these sentiments after his Dynamos side was held to a nil-all draw by defending champions FC Platinum at Mandava.
Mangombe’s side was reduced to 10 men in the second half after Emmanuel Paga was given a yellow card for simulation followed by a send-off in what proved to be a controversial decision by the match official as he was tripped after getting past two MaPlatso defenders.
At some stage, DeMbare had to call all its players to the bench to regroup after the officials failed to raise an offside call which MaPlatso failed to utilize.
The two decisions left Mangombe livid as the match was a make-or-break encounter for both teams in the title race.
Mangombe didn’t hide his disappointment in the officiating of the encounter.
” l am disappointed not by the point but by the way the match was officiated especially in the second half. There were dubious decisions from the match officials, of which some of the things l don’t think are real and we had to fight for this point. I am happy for the point because we should have lost this game but we worked for it. These referees are deciding some of the matches so you won’t know what happens in the next assignments and we train to play with 10 men in case such incidents happen”, he said.
His opposite number, FC Platinum Coach Norman Mapeza also thought his side should have been awarded a penalty kick for a handball incident.
