NetOne ready for Albun Honde Valley marathon

HONDE-Preparations for the second edition of the NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon race are at advanced stage.
The first mobile operator is holding the Honde valley race as a springboard for promoting tourism, rural development as well as raising awareness on global warming and environmental preservation.
Addressing journalists during the official launch of the NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon at Harare Sports Club recently, the government owned company’s chief commercial officer Learnmore Masunda who was represented by OneMoney marketing manager Tinotenda Mukachana explained that the objective of the marathon resonated with his company’s commitment of community engagement, environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
“It is with great pleasure that we, as NetOne, are proud to once again serve as the main sponsor of this remarkable marathon, in partnership with the Albun Fitness Club and other esteemed collaborators. Last year, we witnessed the successful execution of the inaugural 2023 NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon and this year, we are thrilled to be part of the second edition,” highlighted Masunda.
The NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon race will have its route passing through lush forests, rolling hills and picturesque villages, showcasing Manicaland province’s natural beauty. As the athletes will be pounding the dirty roads, they will be treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Masunda added that his company will also fully support the ‘Green initiative’, a program aimed at promoting environmental sustainability in the Honde Valley area. The company will plant trees, support local conservation efforts and promote eco-tourism in the province.
The event which will kick off on November 24th 2024 will include scenic route through Honde Valley, competitive categories for athletes and entertainment activities for spectators.
