ZVISHAVANE – Juan Mutudza, who is proving to be the main man at FC Platinum was on the score sheet again as the former champions made light work of football powerhouse, Highlanders FC by humbling them 2-0 before their legion of supporters at the home of football in the city of Queens and Kings, Babourfields Stadium.
Mutudza who has proven to the vital cog for the Zvishavane based side netted his fifth goal of the season and is among the top goal scorers at par with Lynoth Chikukwa of Highlanders.
The win was crucial to FC Platinum in their quest to win the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League for the fifth time having missed out last time to Ngezi Platinum Stars FC.
For the four times that they won the league title, Rodwell Chinyengetere has been the main man and since his departure to Caps United the team has been failing to have that drive although Walter Musona tried he did not match Amla’s contributions.
This season they seem to have found Mutudza who is scoring crucial goals for fun at the right moment.
The Norman Mapeza coached side came into this match having been awarded three points for their abandoned game against Caps United in which Mutudza had also scored.
Mapeza and Company have been tasked by the executive to win the title again and was backed by a lot of new faces who include Davison Marowa and some players from the developmental side.
