MASVINGO CITY-Those with a strong command of the colonial power or the Queen/King’s language say, dynamite comes in small packages.
This aptly describes the pint sized tag team of popular events director, David Masomere aka DJ Masomere and Gift Edmore Muza who were part of President Mnagagwa’s campaign team ahead of the August 23 and 24 harmonised elections.
Few knew that before any star rally by President Mnangagwa, Muza and Masomere would go on a pre mobilization campaign in preparation for the President’s rally all over the country.
“It is a strategy that we thought of before the campaigns started in earnest after some soul searching on how to win the hearts and souls of the people of Zimbabwe to vote for our President.

“It’s a novel idea that we came up with, where would stage pre-star rally mobilistaion in preparation for the actual rally in all the provinces and it worked wonders as the numbers were there for all to see.
“All the presidential star rallies were oversubscribed and this was partly due to our mobilization strategy before the actual rally.
“Never before has there been such numbers at star rallies, even during the First Republic, no such numbers were ever witnessed,” said the soft spoken Muza who blows like dynamite when he gets hold of the mic.
The team would go on road shows at all the nearby growth points where the President was set to hold a star rally.
Places like Magunje in Mashonaland West Province would go live the day before the star rally as music belted from the team’s vehicle which contained the PA system.
In Jerera, Zaka it was all systems go before what was dubbed the biggest political rally ever to be held in Masvingo Province.
In Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe, known for its unquestionable allegiance to Zanu PF, the situation was the same as the Growth Point literally did not sleep on the eve of the star rally.
“We did this for our party Zanu PF and our President Cde E.D. Mnangagwa and we are excited that through our efforts, the President easily romped home to victory,” said Muza.
Masomere also said, “our goal was to see E.D back in office and we did just that, there was time to rest until the last day of campaign.
“It was really a tag team made in heaven as we went to all corners of the country to garner support for Shumba”.
Mnangagwa won the presidential elections by 52.6% against his close contender, Nelson Chamisa of CCC who garnered 44%.
