“The marathon is not just a test of endurance. It is a celebration of the spirit of athleticism and competitiveness that brings us together. It serves as a platform to support causes that resonate deeply within our hearts and communities.

“Through this marathon, we showcase the stunning vistas and vibrant traditions of our region to participants and spectators alike. By highlighting the unique charm of the Honde valley, we foster a deeper appreciation for its wonders and encourage visitors to explore and experience all that the remarkable location has to offer. By supporting local initiatives, we ensure that the benefits of tourism reach those who call this beautiful valley home, creating a ripple effect of prosperity and hope.

“In an era where the impacts of climate change are increasingly evident, our marathon serves as a crucial platform for advocating environmental stewardship. We must emphasize the urgent need to address global warming and inspire actions that contribute to a greener, healthier planet,” said the NetOne boss.

“It is always a pleasure to win a race as an athlete whenever you go on track or road, whatever the session maybe, you aim to be the best. In terms of the terrain, Honde valley terrain was not as steep as Vumba. It is a mountain run but it’s not steep. From here I have not yet decided but am still planning to make a comeback for the marathon to qualify for the Tokyo 2025 but I am not decided yet,” Chidzivo said.

She explained that at the beginning of the race she could not guess if she was going to make it and reiterated that the finishing line is the decider.
