Chivara Panthers edge GZU Eagles 64-38

MASVINGO-The Chivara Panthers, the leading team in the Masvingo Basketball League, won a convincingly against the GZU Eagles on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Ndarama High School.
The final score was 64-38.
According to Chivara Panthers’ captain, Trevor Njinga, the team played well and is excited about their recent success.
“Overall, the group is very happy, and the feeling of winning three games in a row has boosted a lot of confidence and team chemistry,” said Njinga in an interview with the Midweek Watch.
The standout performer of the game was Leopord Munhende, who scored 16 points.
Tapiwa Mugabe also contributed 13 points to the Panthers’ victory.
In addition to their on-court success, the Chivara Panthers have also announced the addition of a new foreign member, Jacob Bekken, from Norway, who is currently staying in Bikita.
In another Masvingo Basketball League game, the Outlaws defeated the Big Steppers 41-26.
The best player in that game was Munashe Mabhena.
