MASVINGO -A Business Entrepreneurship program funded by UNESCO that seeks to promote growth of the creative industry was successfully held in Masvingo with over 40 participants benefiting from the two months course.
The trainings were coordinated by reputable trainers from Motto Republik through a Great Zimbabwe initiative.
The course was aimed at equipping creative individuals with the skills to structure and grow their businesses, with a focus on arts, crafts, culture, and tourism.
It also aimed in empowering small enterprises on the importance of formal registration, manage, and improve their businesses, ultimately boosting tourism and cultural product sales.

One of the trainers Marcus Gora emphasized the significance of understanding value chain, pricing, and market share in the creative sector.
He challenged participants to rethink their approach, encouraging them to see their talents as viable business opportunities.
Consultant Shalom Govero guided arts performers, tour guides, event planners, producers, and traditional dancers on how to formalize their businesses, to access funding, and promote the Zimbabwean culture.
Through this initiative, UNESCO will fund selected creative individuals with a little seed money as a way to sustain their passions in businesses.
“Will make public the successful candidates and amount after the completion of the course,” said Gora
“By doing so, they will not only contribute to the growth of Zimbabwe’s creative industry but also showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
“As participants embark on this transformative journey, they will gain valuable insights, skills, and connections.
“With good profiles and a solid business foundation, they will attract more tourists and customers, further promoting Zimbabwe’s vibrant culture,” she said.
