Modelling sensation Dillish mother talks about her journey to West Africa

Upcoming modelling sensation, 5 year old Dillish Masango’s mother who accompanied her daughter to the most populous nation on the continent, Nigeria took time off her busy schedule to talk to The Midweek Watch about her experience.
Vivacious Dillish competed in the prestigious Miss Toto and was crowned 2nd Princess earning herself the right to represent the continent in USA for the world finals in July this year, she also scooped first prizes in the Miss Smiles and Miss Popularity, implying that she was the most popular at the competitions.
Her zeal, passion, confidence, popularity and beautiful smiles that the five year old exhibited charmed the iconic Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot who went on to have a photo shoot with her as he admired her guts and said the world was the limit for Dillish in the showbiz world.
Dillish was one of the contestants who competed in Nigeria alongside other participants drawn from 11 African countries.
Recalling her daughter’s journey to the pageant in Nigeria, Dillish’ mother who is her mentor and coach Rumbidzai Chisangowerotah said she was personally nervous taking her daughter to the continental showcase.
But for her daughter Dillish it seems she had already set her mind on winning the contest, before they left the country.
“We started our journey on the 23rd of March, around 4pm we boarded a bus to Harare and went straight to the Robert Mugabe International Airport.
“Our flight was at 1:20am, we used Ethiopian Airlines and we were supposed to connect the flight to Lagos in Addis Ababa.
“The experience was great although it was not my first time to fly, but for my daughter Dillish it was, she was very excited to the extent that the person sitting next to her during our flight became her friend all the way,” she said.
She added that she was expecting the best from her daughter as her composure during their trip to Nigeria indicated that she was determined to go all the way.
The modelling competition were held in Lagos and the two stayed at a 5 Star Lagos Oriental Hotel, for eight unforgettable days
“The competitions were stiff however, Dillish managed to shrug off competitions from other tots to win, in addition they had funny moments as they played games as contestants and had a pyjmas party which they enjoyed very well boosting their self confidence.
” During the competition for some reason I was now calm, after seeing her compete l knew my daughter would make it and the results were fair, at some point people should learn to accept what is there.
” We met a lot of amazing people in Nigeria l must say and some we are still communicating with.
” At the moment Dillish has no Personal Manager, we will see as time goes on since she is still a minor it’s something l must not rush into, but to give it time,” said the soft spoken Chisangowerotah.
Upon their return from Nigeria Dillish and her mother were welcomed back by Denzel Soka a Guitarist singing Shaina by Alexio Kawara and Dillish’s aunties at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport.
After conquering the African continent, the five year old Victoria Primary School pupil has set her eyes on a quest to conquer the world in the United States of America in New York City come July.
Only 2 kids from Zimbabwe are going to participate in the USA in the Miss World Toto pageant, that’s Dillish from Masvingo and another identified as Tamar who won the Innovative Queen title.
