No joy in Midlands for Mazodze

SPORTS REPORTER

MIDLANDS – The decision to have a sister club for FC Wangu Mazodze is yet to bear any fruits after the flamboyant outfit managed a single point in as many outings in the Ruvimbo Funeral ZIFA Central Region Soccer League.

This follows their loss to Kwekwe United in the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Region Division 1 Soccer League Matchday 2 encounter played at Baghdad stadium in Kwekwe. They drew nil all against Dinson Mvuma FC in their first game of the season.

Mazodze who are based in Masvingo decided to have a club in the Midlands as they are hunting for easy entry into Castel Lager Premier League having failed the last two seasons to do so in the ZIFA Eastern Region.

Though it’s early days they have realized that the Central Region is the farmers league which most regions in the country claim it to be because of the relegation that the teams suffer in the Premier Soccer League upon promotion however they have to work for it if they are to be promoted.

Nelson Chikora and Chipo David scored the two goals that gave Kwekwe United first win of the season.
