Mentally challenged Zaka man brutally kills passerby

ZAKA-A-25-year-old man from Village Togarepi under Chief Mabika in Zaka, has had his life tragically cut short after being brutally attacked by a mentally challenged man.
According to Masvingo Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, the incident occurred on September 18 when the accused, Nyashadzaishe Chivhadze, suddenly picked up a large stick and viciously assaulted Peter Mafunga while he was walking on a nearby road.
“When Mafunga walked by on a nearby road, Chivhadze suddenly picked up a large stick and rushed towards him, unleashing a vicious assault on his entire body,” Insp Dhehwa said.
After the attack, Chivhadze returned home, dragging the stick.
One of his cousins, alarmed by the commotion, ran to the road and discovered Mafunga’s lifeless body.
Chivhadze is currently in police custody, and the authorities have appealed to families with mentally challenged relatives to monitor them and seek medical attention for them.
