Mberengwa based teams Jame West and Vanguard stormed into the finals of a local football tournament organised by Mbesa Football club in appreciation of the support they continue to get from the locals.
The date of the finals will be made known soon.
Mbesa is a ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A outfit.
The tournament was confirmed to The Midweek Watch by the Club’s Technical Director Tino Machona who highlighted that the clubs were being appreciated for giving the team players as well as appreciation the supporters.
A total of seven teams took part in the tournament which was split into two groups, A and B.
The teams which featured in the tournament are Jame West, Vanguard, Machaya, Magumbuta, TMZ, Mberengwa Legends and Mberengwa Stars
Group A featured Jame West, Mberengwa Legends, TMZ and Machaya while Group B featured Magumbuta, Vanguard and Mberengwa Stars
Mberengwa stars advanced to the semi-finals where they lost to Jame west with Vanguard winning against Machaya in the other semi-final.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch Machona said the clubs will get match ball and stockings as token of appreciation.
“It was a thank you tourney to clubs which gave us players on MBESA birth as well as appreciating our supporters. Mbesa is to give out a jersey stockings and match balls”, he said.
