MASVINGO-In bizarre incident that happened in Tichagwa Village under Chief Charumbira, a man (31) committed suicide after threatening her mother while asking her for s*x.
Mashinde Magande was found by his mother Dambudzo Jongoni (50) hanging on a roof truss with an electric cable on January 20 at around 5am.
Masvingo Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident and encouraged people to seek help if they are faced with stressing issues.
‘We encourage people to people to seek help so that they can solve their issues amicably instead of taking their lives,” said Dhewa.
The circumstances are that on January 20 around 3am, the deceased approached his mother and threatened her to have s*x with him.
Fearing for her life, Jongoni went to her uncle, Godfrey Chagura’s homestead to seek refugee.
At around 5am Chagura and Jongoni accompanied each other back to the former’s house.
On arrival at the homestead they found Magande hanging lifeless inside the house on a roof truss.
The deceased’s mother went on to report the issue to Nemamwa police base who inspected the body and found no physical injuries.
The body was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for post mortem which was waved by Magistrate Farai Gwitima.
