Hwindi president quitting music, claims it’s not paying

Hwindi president, real name Bessel Mugo Parewa is an award winning Zimbabwean Zimdancehall artist based in Harare. He rose to fame in 2015 with song “Tambirai Monarch”.

Later, the song “Handina Kwekunoriisa” in which he sings about the phasing out of the South African Rand in Zimbabwe, in favour of the Bond Coins, was also a hit. He’s popularly known for his signature chant “Zvatanga, Bvunza maHwindi pamshika shika”.

In a post seen by newsreportzim.com, on the twitter handle the prominent artist consider quitting music and look for a stable job that is able to bring money in his pockets.

He also wrote that singing is not his cup of tea.

There was a frenzy of comments yesterday when the Zimdancehall chanter from Chitungwiza Hwindi President took to social media claiming that music is not his calling.

In his post “Rega Timbotsvaga Mari Zve Music Hazvisi Zvedu Izvi” clearly shows that musicians in Zimbabwe are failing to be paid for their efforts an entertainers. Hwindi President is not the first one to admit that music is not really paying, Exquisite(XQ) in the past days took to his social media and claimed that he is also ready for anything that brings money to his pocket by saying in his statement “…ndotumika…”
