Drunk Nyanga man fatally stabs wife over infidelity

NYANGA-In an incident that left the Chief Mutasa community in a state of shock, a drunk man stabbed his wife to death and went on to inform his in law about the gruesome murder.
Manicaland police and community relations liaison officer, Inspector Nobert Muzondo told The Midweek that yesterday at around 6pm, Patson Nyagato of Village 41 Fox under Chief Mutasa in Nyanga District came back home drunk.
A misunderstanding ensued between Nyagato and his wife, Memory Mapika over infidelity. The wife started packing her bags to leave the homestead in protest, but Nyagato tripped her down and brutally stabbed her with an okapi knife at the back of her head and neck and left her in a pool of blood after he discovered that she had died.
He went on to report the brutal murder to his in law, Lovemore Murehwa who invited Cephas Chigura to assist him to apprehend the suspect.
A report was made to Nyanga Police leading to the arrest of the suspect while the body was taken to the district hospital for postmortem.
