Chivhayo nabbed with R15m gold
SOUTH African authorities have confirmed the arrest of a Zimbabwean and his local accomplice after they were found in possession of gold bullions worth R15 million in the neighbouring country.
Curiously, the Zimbabwean has been identified as Joacham Chivayo (33), whose relationship with a controversial multi-millionaire tenderprenuer and dealer Wicknell Chivhayo, could not be immediately established.
According to social media reports, the pair was busted by the Hawks at an estate in South Africa, but origins of the precious mineral was not revealed.
“Two suspects, namely Joacham Chivayo (33), a Zimbabwean national, and Ayanda Brian Gungwa (20), a South African, were apprehended at Helderwyk Estate by the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation team.
“Approximately R15 million worth of gold was seized,” posted the SA Criminal Justice System on its X handle
