Chiredzi man kills patron over 1.5L super beer

CHIREDZI-The farming community of Chiredzi was left shell shocked after a man identified as Mupfuka allegedly stabbed fellow patron to death following the disappearance of his 1.5L super beer.

Wilson Mushava (30) was stabbed to death on November 23 at around 11pm at Mazisa Nhegere Bar where a band was performing in the town.

The address of the accused and deceased are not known.

Masvingo Province deputy police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu told The Midweek Watch that Mupfuka was drinking beer during a live performance by a band when he accused fellow patrons of stealing is super beer.

In order to cool the tempers Mushava offered to replace the beer and together with the accused went to Nhando Bar to buy the replacement super.

A few minutes later other patrons were informed that Mushava had been stabbed and was lying down bleeding profusely from the left side of his chest.

They rushed him to Chiredzi General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police were informed and investigations are underway to apprehend the suspect who fled the scene of murder.

“We are appealing to members of the public to assist in apprehending the suspect.

“We also urge people not to resort to violence when solving disputes,” said Patinyu.
