ZVISHAVANE -ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League champions, Chegutu Pirates FC aka Zaire were crowned winners of the Champions of Champions Cup after a goalless draw against fellow Eastern Region champions, Bikita Minerals FC.
The champions of champions match was played at Lithium Stadium in Bikita on Sunday.
They won the title on aggregate as they had registered a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture.
Bikita Minerals failed to utilize their home advantage and did not find the back of the net in the two matches, something they need to seriously work on heading into the elite Premier Soccer League next season.
Before the two legged matches, Chegutu Pirates head coach, Day Gutu had reiterated that they were playing for their region as they are the flagship.
“As representatives of the Northern Region Soccer League we didn’t want to let the region down. We fought to claim the tie”, he said.
