MASVINGO-Arguably the biggest automobile company in the ancient city, Byword Motors is set to hold its inaugural business engagement golf tournament at Masvingo Golf Club this Friday.
The golf tournament is being held in partnership with leading financial services group in the country, FBC Bank to enhance networking among the business community, Byword executive, Raymond Chiwara told The Midweek Watch.
“As their biggest customer in Masvingo FBC saw it fit to partner us in a business interactive golf tournament for their clients in Masvingo,” said Chiwara.
Roy Nyakunuwa (pictured), FBC Holdings head group marketing and public relations said they are doing this as part of their social corporate activities in the communities that they are found.
“It’s an endearment to the business community in Masvingo through FBC’s corporate social impact agenda. We recognise and appreciate the communities that we serve in. We wish the golfers the best in the tournament,” said Nyakunuwa.
Chiwara said this is the first time that they have partnered FBC in a golf tournament.

Byword Motors together with its sister company, Jadecon Engineering which is into construction and manufacturing of high quality bricks for industrial and domestic use has partnered many organisations to raise funds through golf for charity.
They partner organisations like Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services, Masvingo City Council, Zimbabwe National Army and many others, said Byword assistant general manager, Ephraim Museva.
Chiwara said they are targeting 60 players to take part and so far 50 have confirmed their participation in the stableford 4 better ball tournament.
He said Byword will sponsor the food, uniforms while FBC sponsors the prizes which he said they are very exciting.
“I urge our players to come in their numbers as there are prizes galore at this business interactive tournament which one cannot afford to miss,” said Chiwara.
The playing fee has been pegged at $80 US dollars for teams and individuals fee is on $20 US dollars.
