Black Eagles, Great Dyke in thrilling draw

SPORTS  REPORTER

MBERENGWA- The clash of table toppers, Great Dyke FC and Black Eagles FC in the ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A failed to produce a winner despite the two teams playing entertaining football.

The match was played at Education Stadium in Mberengwa on Sunday.

This was the first meeting between the two clubs and Black Eagles were the favourites to win the match however, the newboys had other ideas as they gave them a run good for their money.

The result means that the Buchwa based Black Boots side are now on 19 points two points ahead of the Serengeto Boys from the eight games played so far.

Great Dyke FC team manager, Ashel Gutu said the result was a fair result as they played a tough team in the league.

“The game was a tense one and we missed a lot of chances, had we converted them, it was going to be a different outcome but kudos to the boys they defended well and we hope to keep more clean sheets as the season progresses as we are sticking to our vision of getting promoted”, he said.
