Agric Minister Masuka to officially open Masvingo Show

MASVINGO – The Deputy Director of coordination in the Minister of State’s office in Masvingo Province, Irvine Kanerusine has told The Midweek Watch that this year’s Agriculture Show which begins today will be officially opened by the Minister of Agriculture, Dr Anxious Mauka.

The official opening of Masvingo Agriculture Show is set for this Saturday at the showgrounds located along the Harare Road.

“Everything is now in place for the commencement of the agricultural show which will see more than 100 exhibitors from both government and private institutions gracing the occasion this year.

“Guest of honour for this edition is going to be the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural Development, Dr Masuka and will be accompanied by the Minister of State for Masvingo Province and Devolution, Mr Chadzamira,” said Kanerusine.

This show is running under the theme, ‘Transformation: the Key Engine for Economic Growth’.

Masvingo Province, State information guru, Rodgers Irimayi said there will be lots of entertainment for the show goers over the four days is a lot of entertainment lined up for the show and everyone is encouraged to go and have fun.

“We have Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) full displays, Zimbabwe National Army(ZNA) mock battle, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services music band from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife (ZIMPARKS) will be parading their different animals and then Obey Makamure aka Tocky Vibes will do a live performance on Saturday along with fireworks display as well,” said Irimayi.

Listed companies like Econet, Cottco, Farm and City, OK Zimbabwe, Hippo Valley Estates Limited, and Tanganda.

Other major organisations are Masvingo City Council, Zimparks, Ok Mart, Nyaradzo, Zimpost, Cottco, Reformed Church University, Farm and City, AFC Bank, Netone, ZINWA, NSSA, Masvingo Teachers College, and Surrey.

Show society administration secretary, Jane Marevesa urged the business community and farmers to attend the show as it is an opportunity for them to create synergies and networking.

The show will run from this Thursday to Sunday next week.
