5 arrested for unlawful entry, theft in Masvingo

Five suspects have been arrested and charged with unlawful entry into premises and theft in and around Masvingo.

Masvingo Province deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu.

According to a statement released by the police, the accused persons, Admire Chitorido Munetsi, Brian Tazvitya, Hardlite Chireya, Wonderful Musebha, and Sylas Matesamwa, allegedly stole various items, including a submersible water pump, solar panels, kitchen utensils, clothing, and a mattress, valued at US$3,380.

Deputy Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu, confirmed the arrests and commended members of the public for supplying information that led to the recovery of the stolen property.

“We applaud members of the public for their vigilance and cooperation with the police, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen property,” Patinyu said.

The suspects are expected to appear in court. The police urged members of the public to continue reporting any suspicious activities in their areas to the law enforcement agency.
