Kwekwe- Four people narrowly escaped death on December 1, 2024, after the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a herd of cattle at the 89-kilometer peg along the Kwekwe-Gokwe Road.

Midlands Province ZRP spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko.

Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the incident.

“We appeal to motorists to avoid speeding and exercise a high degree of caution on the roads. Such accidents can be avoided with vigilance and adherence to speed limits,” he said.

Circumstances are that the driver Musekiwa Josiah (50) of Kwekwe was driving a white Toyota Dyna truck carrying three passengers when the accident occurred.

Upon reaching the 89-kilometer peg, the vehicle hit four cattle that were crossing the road. The truck veered off the road and landed on its left side.

All four sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to Gokwe South District Hospital by well-wishers.

Meanwhile, Police has urged all road users to be alert and considerate to ensure safer travel, especially during the festive season when road traffic incidents tend to increase.
