21 beasts recovered in Chikombedzi

CHIKOMBEDZI- The Police has recovered 17 cattle belonging to six families that were reported stolen in early May from Chikombedzi in Chiredzi District.
On the 16th of May the Police officers from Chikombedzi received a tip off about the whereabouts of the stolen cattle.
Masvingo Province ZRP spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that the Police was informed that the thieves were seen herding the cattle in Dhamalala Village.
A team of Police officers engaged on a searching patrol at the suspected area where they met the suspects along Mozambique boarder.
The suspects ran away and the team only managed to recover 17 cattle and 3 donkeys.
All recovered cattle and donkeys had branding marks which made it easier to identify the owners.
The brand marks on the cattle belonged to Dumisa and Samo dip tanks.
The team informed the dip tanks attendants who helped in identifying the six families who had their cattle and donkeys stolen.
Inspector Dhewa urged the public to put brand marks on their livestock for easy identification in the event of theft.
Meanwhile, Police recovered 5 cattle at Ndali on 22 May, being driven a man, who disappeared upon being questioned about the ownership of the beasts.
The cattle are being kept at Chief Chovani in Chiredzi awaiting the rightful owners to identify them.
