2 421 graduate at Mushagashe Training Centre

Masvingo -Mushagashe Vocational Training Center in Masvingo hosted its 12th graduation ceremony which saw 2 421 students graduating where 1 117 were females and 1 305 male including four disabled students.

The combined graduation ceremony comprised of students from the host Mushagashe, Mhandamabwe Vocational Training Centre in Chivi, Masvingo Urban Vocational Training Centre and Gutu Vocational Training Centre.

The event, which was held under the theme “Innovate, Create, Elevate: Celebrating Vocational Excellence,” was presided over by Minister of Youth, Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Tinoda Machakaire as the guest of honor.

During the ceremony, the graduands were led by Minister Machakaire in a vow to abstain from drug abuse, with a commitment to contribute towards building a strong economy and a successful future for all vocational training centers.

The Minister commended the graduands for their hard work and dedication, saying they had demonstrated their commitment to acquiring skills that would enable them to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic development and this is the biggest graduation ceremony for a VTC in the country where more than 2000 students received their certificates.

The graduation ceremony also marked the official opening of the center’s computer laboratory, which is equipped with more than 30 computers and laptops.

 The laboratory is expected to enhance the center’s efforts to provide students with the necessary skills to compete in the modern job market and it has star link internet.

Minister Machakaire urged the graduands to take advantage of the opportunities available to them, including the Empowerment Bank and other programs aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs.

The ceremony was attended by various stakeholders, including government officials, representatives from the private sector, and parents of the graduands.
