GWERU- A former Mandava High School student Kudzaishe Daphne Chimedza (20), has been crowned Miss Midlands 2025 at a glittering pageant held in Gweru last week.

Kudzaishe who is not a stranger to pageantry shrugged off competition from seven other models, making history for Zvishavane which had never won such a crown before.
Chimedza told The Midweek Watch that she is the first Zvishavane model to hold the prestigious tittle. She also said that she would use her status to improve the life of the girl child in the Midlands province.
“I am happy to be crowned Miss Midlands 2025 a position which means a lot to me and the entire Zvishavane community.
“I have been waiting for this moment. I would like to thank all the people who supported me,” she said.
Chimedza’s victory has been hailed as a breakthrough for the Zvishavane community by many people. During previous editions, the tittle had consistently been won by contestants from bigger cities like Gweru and Kwekwe.
Earlier this year, Chimedza competed at the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2025, where she won the People’s Choice award finishing the beauty contest as a second runner-up.
