MILLICENT HUNGWE
MASVINGO- Members of the ZRP network Masvingo Central Police Station led by Assistant Commissioner, Florence Marume on Monday donated goodies to Constable Linda Nyoni who recently gave birth to triplets.
Women Network Advisor, Assistant Commissioner Florence Marume said compassion and unity among members of the police service pushed them to mobilise funds for the goodies.
“We were happy after we heard that one of us has given birth to triplets and we decided to mobilise funds to buy something for the family as fellow workmates to welcome our babies in style.

“Both female and male officers joined hands to contribute to the purchase of the goodies that we have brought here today.
“We came up with the idea not because she is poor, but it is a way of thanking God for the gift of life,” said Marume.
The uniformed members showed their love and unity when they visited their colleague, and her South African based husband Andrew Mubatapasango and showered the young family with gifts at their new residence in Zimuto Camp.
Constable Nyoni gave birth to the male triplets on 22 February this year at Masvingo Provincial Hospital, unfortunately the other passed on five days later.
“Kandric and Kalion are our first children,” said Constable Nyoni.
The network donated 2 cot beds, a bed for the couple, clothes, food stuffs for both parents and the babies, buckets and huggies.

“As Police Officers we are not limited to arresting people only, but we are also involved in social issues and this is a gesture we have shown to our colleague.
“We are very happy that one of us has given birth to triplets,” she said.
Mubatapasango thanked the officers for the kind gesture and love that they showed to his family as they were allocated official residence at Zimuto Camp soon after the blessings.
