Bikita- Flamboyant, controversial businessman, author and Zanu PF MP for Bikita South Energy Mutodi is allegedly neglecting his six months old baby and his ex wife has filed for maintenance at the Masvingo Magistrate Court.
The ex wife, Plight Dhiyo is demanding US$1 500 per month for the upkeep of the six months old daughter whom she sired with Mutodi while their marriage was still subsisting.
Dhiyo is being represented by Ruvengo Maboke and Company legal Practitioners who filed the papers on her behalf on Thursday (5/12/24).
“I was married in 2023 by the Respondent in terms of the Customary Law, Respondent paid part of the lobola to my parents.
I then later separated with Respondent after sometime. During the customary Law Union we had one minor child who is aged six months. At the time of separation Mutodi made an undertaking that he was going to give me money for the upkeep of the child. However from the time when I separated with Respondent, he never paid any penny towards the upkeep of the child,” said Dhiyo in her affidavit deposited with the courts.
She argued that Mutodi is wealthy and earns US$15 000 net per month.
