RUSAPE-A daring Rusape woman has been arrested for allegedly pounding her husband to death with a thick firewood log after he questioned her about her illicit relationship with a neighbor.
Netsai Matsikira (38) of Vhengere in Rusape was arrested on Independence Day following her husband, Charles Chikukwa (42)’s death after she bashed him with a thick firewood stick when he accused her of sleeping around with a neighbor.
Manicaland Province acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that on Independence Day, Charles came home drunk at around 6pm and started accusing Netsai of having a steamy affair with a neighbor and this did not go down well with her.
Netsai angrily picked a log and struck Charles in the abdomen once and twice in the chest in full view of their two daughters.
Charles fell down and became unconscious, at which point Netsai and their two daughters rushed him to Rusape General Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Rusape Central Police immediately arrested Netsai while Charles’s body was taken to the mortuary awaiting postmortem and investigations are still in progress.
Chinyoka said people should never resort to use of violence to resolve differences as this may lead to unneccessary loss of lives as tempers flare.
